A look back, specifically from the 1960s onward, with iconic movements such as minimalism, arte povera, conceptualism, and performance art, based on the permanent exhibition " Object, Body, and Space" at the MAC/CCB, the Museum of Contemporary Art and the Belém Architecture Center.

A tour filled with renowned artists, but also featuring iconic collections such as the Berard, Holma/Ellipe, Teixeira de Freitas, and the Portuguese State's contemporary art collection itself. A rethinking of the art object, its creative processes, and its relationship with the viewer, including works by artists such as Richard Serra, Bruce Nauman, Cindy Sherman, Pedro Cabrita Reis, Louise Bourgeois, and Nan Goldin.

The artists' individual proposals are connected to a number of recognizable threads. On the one hand, there is a broadening of the geographical and cultural origins of the different artistic proposals, in a process that is both globalization and diversification. On the other hand, the conflicts inherent in the recognition of minority rights and the political commitment of many artists take on significant expression. The exhibition's layout, which will be periodically subject to readjustments and new juxtapositions, fosters a dialogue between the works.

A dialogue and conversation of perspectives between works that are often formally divergent, but that are connected in the themes they address: strangeness, critique of racial and colonial domination, the loss of the object in the presence of words or texts, memory, the body, and sexuality.

From systematic painting, which kicks off the permanent exhibition at the MAC/CCB in Belém, to the themes addressed by postcolonialism, including minimalism, conceptualism, land art, arte povera, traumatic realism, and Corpus Situs.
