Barcelona has held an emotional posthumous tribute to Joan Antoni Samaranch, IOC president from 1980 to 2001, at a solemn event in the gardens of Palauet Albéniz. The event gathered authorities and family members, including King Felipe VI and the president of the Generalitat, Salvador Illa. Organized by the Olympic and Sports Museum, this event acknowledges Samaranch's contribution to the 1992 Olympic Games.
